Why is oil important? The United States consumed seven and a half billion barrels of oil and nearly thirty-one trillion cubic feet of natural gas in 2019.

These annual numbers equate to over two hundred thirty-six barrels of oil and nine hundred eighty-three thousand cubic feet of gas per second. Today, the importance of oil and gas in our country cannot be overstated.
Thankfully, the oil and gas industry has not remained idle while technologies are being further developed for renewable energy.

New reservoir optimization techniques have enhanced petroleum production in both vertical and horizontal wells. Cotton Graham - Founder and President

Cotton began working in the oil and gas industry more than 25 years ago in 1994. He founded his first oil and gas development company in 2004 entering the market at $30 per barrel oil and sold his holdings near the top of the market at $75.

He founded G2 Petroleum, LLC in 2008. It provides venture capital (bringing to market retail oil investment deals) and consulting (aligned with our clients’ interests). The Company initially sought oil and gas investments in South Texas, North Dakota and Colorado. It is currently investing in oil in the historic “Boomtown” area of North Texas. We are committed to our clear-cut, results driven approach to exploration, oil and gas production and development in the highly prolific oilfields in Wichita County Texas.

Cotton founded Newport Operating, LLC in 2015 initially to complement G2 Petroleum, LLC’s drilling projects. Newport Operating allows Cotton to retain control of all aspects of oilfield drilling and operations and provides a transparency of costs to G2 Petroleum and its oil investment Partners.

When not working, Cotton enjoys spending time with his wife and partner of 18 years and their 5 children. He coaches his daughter’s basketball team and is involved with the city of McKinney’s Lacrosse program. The values he was taught growing up: God, Family, and Country are instilled into his parenting. Cotton is a Navy Veteran with 4 years of active service and his companies actively contribute to several non-profit organizations.

Perf & Test

Strategically located holes are shot through the casing to allow fluid from the reservoir to flow into the hole. The well is tested to determine if fracking is necessary. View video

Fracking

When it’s needed, a fracking solution of water and sand is pumped into the well creating channels that allow hydrocarbons to flow. View video

Completion

A custom completion setup and pump jack are used to extract the oil, its then stored in on-site storage tanks until picked up by the purchaser. View video
